About the event

Aaron Avshalomov (1894-1965) was a Russian-Jewish composer who greatly influenced China's classical music in the 1920s to 1940s, with his unique approach to incorporate Western compositional techniques with Chinese musical themes and elements. He had a brilliant career in Shanghai from 1932 to 1948, as a composer, conductor and producer.

Mr. Xu Shen, cross-cultural historian and researcher, will present this seminar at the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum. The seminar will be in Chinese. Admission is free. Please scan the QR code to reserve.
